Hippopolis by Brock & Waverly Eastman
I love children’s books. So much so that I was collecting them long before I ever had children. I’ve even written an unreleased children’s book myself. And if I ever do release it, I hope it looks as nice as the new series Hippopolis by Brock Eastman and his daughter Waverly.
For those of you new to Brock and his work, he is the author of The Quest For Truth series and has worked on the radio program, Adventures in Odessey. Brock is also one of the authors from the massive online Scavenger Hunt I participated in a couple of years ago.
I’m really pleased to introduce this new children’s series to you today. As an artist myself, I love the colorful, whimsical illustrations in this series. I also think it’s great that his daughter worked with him on these, making them truly children’s books in every sense of the word. If you’ve got kids, or you know some who would love great, colorful, and educational books, you might want to give these a try.
And now, a few words from Brock himself about the origin of this series and what it’s all about.
Hippopolis: From the Zoo to You
Welcome to Hippopolis a new series inspired by a conversation with my youngest daughter and I had while at our local Zoo. We teamed up with the amazing Caleb Havertape to bring these Hippos to life for your family. The world of Hippopolis is meant to educate and entertain. Below you’ll fine the first three titles in the series, but there are several more planned. You can check out the full planned list below.
The Hippos of Hippopolis want to help your child learn their colors and several patterns too. Your child will love the fun alliteration and silly hippos on every page. In the back of each book are several activities to deepen your child’s understanding in a fun but educational way.
Wake up with Little Hippo and spend the day with the Hippo family. Kids will love the rhythmic flow of the story and relate Little Hippo’s experiences to their own. A delightful read that takes your kids through emotions they experience each day. In the back of each book are several activities to deepen your child’s understanding in a fun but educational way.
Count Hippo, Count
Learn to count with these fun hippos. Your preschooler will learn their numbers one through ten with easy rhymes and silly hippos. In the back of each book are several activities to deepen your child’s understanding in a fun but educational way.
