Quote: A writer who waits…

Here’s a little piece of advice for writers. If you’re having trouble writing, the best solution is to write. Writers write. It’s a curiously obvious maxim and when which E.B. White knew quite well.

Here’s a great quote from the author himself reminding us writers to be about our business and stop making excuses.

A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word to paper.

Oh wow… I’ve felt like I haven’t been able to write since February because of school busyness and self-doubts and getting stuck in the story I’m currently working on. But at the same time, I’ve felt like I need to write. I just couldn’t get myself to do it. Thanks for this post! It’s a real motivator!

Abbey, I know what you mean about the self-doubts. It can really suck your motivation dry and I think almost all writers struggle with that to some degree. I hope this quote will spur you to start consistently working on the projects you’ve got on your plate. Even if it’s just a little bit at a time, keep chipping away at that manuscript and you’ll finish it!
