Wednesday’s Word: Hiatus
Hiatus is not all that uncommon of a word. In case you’ve never heard of it, it refers to a pause in a sequence or a break from a routine. And thus it is a very appropriate word for what I’m planning on doing for the Wednesday’s Word feature.
You see, I track which posts get the most views on my site and I’ve been doing this feature for a few months now and it has not generated as much interest as some of my other updates. At the same time, my schedule seems to be getting busier and busier and I’ve been rethinking how I spend my time and where to invest my effort as a writer and, while I’ve certainly enjoyed writing these articles, they do tend to take up quite a bit of time.
So it seems like a good time for a break. If at some point in the future I either have more time or I think there would be more interest, I’ll dust off the old Underwood and bang out some more meditations on the wonderful world of vocabulary, but for now, I’ll be moving on to other things.
To those few and faithful readers of these posts, you have my sincerest thanks. I hope you’ll keep checking in to see what sorts of things I write on non vocabulary-related subjects. I’m sure I’ll think of something. My imagination is rather vast, after all.
