2018 Silmaril Awards voting

2018 Silmaril Awards voting is now open. It’s time to vote for your favorite fantasy characters. Voting ends September 16th and the winners will be announced, one each week day, between September 17-28.

I’ll be announcing the winner of the Silver Tongue award here, but the nominees are listed below. In case you are not familiar with them, here’s a quick look at our would be Silver Tongues for this year.

The Nominees

Eanrin (from Tales of the Goldstone Wood) Knight of Farthestshore and bard of King Ibudan, is a cat-man and poet of Rudiobus. He is famous across all realms for his songs and poetic accounts of historical events and his tales of love – jilted and otherwise.

The Florid Sword (from the Wingfeather Saga) This mysterious freedom fighter is known not only for his acts of derring-do, but also his witty quips and clever remarks. Wherever danger lurks or dull-witted villains threaten to bore you to death, count on the Florid Sword to save the day.

Howl (from Howl’s Moving Castle) An infamous wizard who is as eccentric as he is misunderstood. With a flare for the dramatic and the comical, you can depend on this mercurial wizard to enliven even the most mundane of situations.

Kiernan Kane (from The Minstrel’s Song Series) A wandering minstrel, a guardian of prophecies, and a bumbling baffoon, Kiernan Kane is all of these things a much more. You never quire know what he will say or when he will appear, but you can count on it being memorable.

Lionheart (from Tales of the Goldstone Wood) A jester who has performed before the Emperor of the East, and who once sang his way out of becoming a tiger’s dinner. Also known as Leonard the Lightning Tongue, has always had a love for riddles and tomfoolery.

  1. I have no clue who will win. O_O They’re all so silver tongue-y! 😀 Had a lot of fun nominating and seconding last week!

(Also, while I’m here, I did review The Last Motley. . . but Amazon deleted it–probably because I share the same account with my sister who also reviewed it… So Amazon deleted both of us. Oops. 🙁 Sowy. It’s still on goodreads though. And I loved it! :D)

    1. Yeah, I have no clue on this one either. We shall soon see!

And thank you from the bottom of my heart for your reviews. I wish Amazon wasn’t so sticky about those things, but I did read your review on Goodreads and it warmed my heart. So glad you enjoyed it!

  2. I feel like a broken record, but yikes! So many great characters to choose from! I’m very partial to Eanrin, though… So I might just go with him. XD

      1. Yes, do! But I understand the growing TBR. Every year, the Wingfeather Saga gets mentioned, and I still haven’t read it!
